The cost will be £7.50 per person for three courses, charged to battels. Wine, if wanted, will be bring your own. There will be eighteen places available and you can bring two guests each. Please note that only full graduate members of the MCR can sign up (so no fourth year undergraduates, no associate members although of course they can come as guests). In the right hand corner of the quad there is a black door, go through that, up one flight of stairs and turn to your right where you will see lots of people eating. There's no need for gowns or anything like that - it's all very relaxed and jeans and trainers will be just fine. However, please do make sure that you sit at the place settings with the BLUE napkins -- part of the point of SCR lunch is for us to get to know the Fellows and the best way to do that is to talk to them. This year those Officers are Peter Darch & Rebekah White. In addition to this more informal welfare support comes from a network of Peer Supporters, throughout the MCR and JCR. Other Peer Supporters can be identified by posters throughout college.

Welfare-held events occur throughout term time, including a number of Dessert Nights, Pizza Nights and MCR Brunches on a Sunday morning. These events are generally "drop in" (i.e. you can decide whether to come on the morning/evening), do not feature alcohol, and are a wonderful opportunity to meet other members of the MCR in informal surroundings, for a gossip, moan, or simply some free food. You will be invited to these events, either via a termcard in your pidge, or by email to the MCR mailing list.

Outside of these events, Peter, Rebekah and the Peer Supporters are happy to meet at any time for a coffee, beer or simply just a chat across the dining table in Hall. This can range from something on your mind, to academic problems, to family upheaval. Unfortunately, however, these are the environmentally unfriendly incandescent variety and seem to fail annoyingly often. Such technology has improved a lot in recent years and a recent study found that people preferred the light from modern fluorescent bulbs over regular incandescent ones what type of light bulb they were using.
