Meet the Porters:

Andrew Johnson: Born 1959 in northern England. Attended school in south London. Studied English at King’s College, Cambridge. Worked as a schoolteacher, educational administrator, university lecturer and educational publisher in Zimbabwe, Sudan, South Africa and Swaziland (1982-1998) before returning to England. Married, divorced, remarried. Two children, Ben and Imogen, both born in Harare. Moved to Oxford in 1999 with South African wife Ivy, and worked in publishing until 2003. Dropped out and spent 2004 writing fiction and poetry. Started as a porter at Corpus in 2005 – best job I ever had! Main interests post-1945 English and American poetry, and playing the guitar. Currently ‘Poet Laureate’ of Corpus JCR and hoping to do another poetry reading later this year.
