SCR Lunch (SCRunch) - every Monday of term time
The SCR generously invites us to lunch with them on Mondays during term time. If you're interested in availing yourself of good food and good conversation - and all for free! - then please sign up by placing your name on the list below by Thursday of the preceding week, indicating whether you'd like hot or cold food. Lunch starts at 1 pm.
Come out of the MCR and turn right down the mysterious passageway with a glass dome skylight which will lead you into Gentlemen Commoners' Quad. In the right hand corner of the quad there is a black door, go through that, up one flight of stairs and turn to your right where you will see lots of people eating. There's no need for gowns or anything like that - it's all very relaxed and jeans and trainers will be just fine. However, please do make sure that you sit at the place settings with the BLUE napkins -- part of the point of SCR lunch is for us to get to know the Fellows and the best way to do that is to talk to them. They're really not that scary, I promise!
Please sign up by Thursday 11th January

High Table - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of term time
Each graduate student (sadly this does not include visiting students, associate members or those who are finishing up four-year undergraduate degrees) is entitled to dine at High Table twice in each academic year. I would really advise you to take advantage of this and please don't wait until Trinity because there's not enough room for everyone in one term! Two places for graduates are available on Tuesday and Thursday nights and three on Wednesdays and Fridays, when there is the added lure of dessert (fruit, chocolates, port, hock, claret and coffee) in the SCR. Again, please sign up by Thursday of the preceding week, stating any real dietary issues. On the evening you will be expected to arrive in the SCR around 7pm in your academic gown to drink sherry before processing down to dinner.
Signing up for High Table
Is very simple - just fill in the details in the table below! Please include your name, current email address, title, course and subject (e.g. Ms Helena Kelly, helena.kelly@ccc.ox.ac.uk, DPhil in English Literature) and, if signing up for a Wednesday or a Friday, whether or not you want dessert. If for any reason you need to cancel please email me at helena.kelly@ccc.ox.ac.uk
as well as altering the table on this page.
