As president, Evert van Emde Boas attends a great variety of meetings, gatherings, assemblies and get-togethers, and represents the concerns of the MCR to the college in general. Apart from such representative tasks, he finds himself in the fortunate position of having a committee to do most of the actual work. He is, however, always available for MCR-related questions or comments (evert.vanemdeboas@ccc.ox.ac.uk — if I don’t have the answer I’ll try to send you in the direction of someone who does).

When not indulging in his presidential powers, Evert (who was born not very far from Amsterdam) sometimes imagines what it would be like to work on his DPhil in Classical Languages and Literature (with a focus on the linguistics of Greek Tragedy and Greek literature generally), and teaches language classes and other options in Classics.
