Welcome to the Corpus Christi College MCR

Welcome to the website of the Middle Common Room (MCR) of Corpus Christi College, Oxford. The ‘Middle Common Room’ refers both to the community of postgraduate students, the society which functions as a hub of social and cultural activity for graduates within the College, as well as the actual common room around which much of that common life revolves.

We particularly welcome incoming members of the MCR who have recently received confirmation of their places at Corpus - congratulations, and we look forward to meeting you soon! Please join the MCR mailing list by sending a blank email to corpus-mcr-subscribe@maillist.ox.ac.uk. There is also a Facebook group for incoming grads called "Corpus Postgraduate Freshers 2011" - it shouldn't be difficult to find.

About Corpus

Corpus Christi was founded in 1517 and is amongst Oxford’s oldest colleges. Its 16th and 18th century buildings are some of the most beautiful in Oxford, and it enjoys an unrivalled position, overlooking gardens and meadows yet within five minutes walk of the city centre and the Bodleian Library.

The graduate community is small – with 115 postgraduate students – which makes it a friendly, intimate and welcoming environment for graduate students new to Oxford. The staff includes 40 academic Fellows, all of them distinguished teachers and researchers in their fields. The remarkable 16th century library was praised by Erasmus: it still boasts its original furnishings but is now fully equipped with modern networking facilities, contains 80,000 books and carries 80 journals, making it one of the finest college libraries in Oxford, particularly for classicists and historians.

The College also possesses excellent facilities for sport, music and drama, including the recently completed state-of-the-art MBI Al-Jaber Auditorium.

Corpus is proud of its reputation for friendliness and sense of community. The ethos is one of academic excellence, and the College aims to attract the most talented and committed students, irrespective of origin or background.

We highly recommend all Corpus MCR members join the MCR EMAIL LIST.

Hi guys
Someone at Formal Hall tonight (friday 20th Feb) left with a pink collection box for Breast Cancer Care. If it was you then could i possibly have it back asap? I need to account for all the boxes and the pins, and get the money away.

thanks for your support of a brilliant evening.
